Japanese Ceramics

The Japanese kilns responsible for producing these tiles have a history dating back over a century, with their origins tracing back to the construction of the second main building of the Imperial Hotel, designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright. These kilns continue to use the same techniques today. By determining the properties of clay and the impact of fire, through numerous trials, large-scale production of these decorative tiles is now possible.
